A great summer treat

Okay, time for a new recipe! This is my mom's recipe for Hot Fudge Sauce. Delicious! Use a stick blender if you have one to blend the things together to get a smoother sauce.

Hot Fudge Sauce

1/2 c Hershey's cocoa
3/4 c sugar
2/3 c evaporated milk
1/3 c light corn syrup
1/3 c butter
1 t vanilla

Mix cocoa, sugar, milk, and corn syrup with a wire whisk (or hand held blender). Cook and stir for at least 1 minute. Cooking a little longer will make a thicker sauce. Stir in 1/3 cup butter and 1 t vanilla. Refrigerate leftover sauce. Makes 2 cups.

You're right, Tara--absolutely adorable picture of Tobs. I'm sure the hot fudge sauce would be great, but we try to avoid chocolate at the Meadors' house. David is allergic. Is there anything worse to be allergic to than chocolate? I'm sure Jennifer could comment on that. Love you.

Jamie used to be allergic to chocolate, eggs and peanuts. Then he outgrew the chocolate and egg allergies. He'll never outgrow the peanut/nut allergies. And he recently developed an allergy to peas and green beans. As those are two of his favorites, he was highly upset. If he ever develops an allergy to spinach, I KNOW he'll be upset. That's his absolute favorite!

And the choco sauce sounds good, but I've restricted sugar in Jamie's diet due to his ADHD. I may take your recipe and experiment with substitutes, though!
