YUMMM

I kept talking about all the "extras" I wanted to put on Suze's pizza. So, here's one (before I baked it) that uses Alfredo sauce for the pizza sauce, spinach, grilled red and yellow peppers, mushrooms, onions, artichoke hearts, black olives, feta cheese and mozzarella cheese. I can assure you it was totally delish!

I'm thinking of adding grilled eggplant slices to the next pizza. Dad asked me if I had enough pepperoni on it. I said "I have the perfect amount for this type of pizza." When I gave it to him, he took a bite and said it was great. Then he frowned and asked "Didn't you have enough pepperoni?" I said, "I told you I had the perfect amount for this type of pizza. The perfect amount was none."

I marinated some chicken breasts in Italian dressing, grilled them, added tomatoes and feta to spinach on a store bought crust. Oh, and used Alfredo Sauce too! Yummmmmy!

Oh, wow! That sounds awesome! THIS is exactly why I wanted us all to be able to share recipes!

Jamethan has threatened a boycott if I don't make him a "meaty" pizza. He loves veggies, but Papaw has turned him over to the Dark Side when it comes to pizza. They are of the opinion that "pepperoni" and "pizza" must go together! All I can say is, "Use the force, Jamie! Use the force! Resist the powers of the dark side!"

You can always do 1/2 and 1/2! Does chicken count as meat in his book? Chicken is great on veggie pizzas for thos who need to have a little meat too.

I'll try some chicken. That's mainly what he likes to eat. Doesn't much like red meat, except for greasy, grimy pepperoni. His papaw buys it in bulk for Jamie to eat when he goes down to visit. Yeck! It's a good thing Jamie is super skinny, because his Papaw buys him all kinds of junk food: pepperoni, hot pockets, ice cream, fruit roll-ups, pudding, etc. He doesn't even buy the low fat kind! Oh well, Papaw's are supposed to spoil their grandkids, aren't they?

I'm afraid I follow Wade's old philosophies on pizza. The perfect pizza must have pepperoni, sausage, and mushrooms. Also, pizza is kind of like sex--even when it's bad, it's still pretty good.

Tonight's menu will consist of $5.00 Little Caesar's Pepperoni pizza and Italian Cheese Bread. I just wasn't in the mood for meaty pizza this past weekend.

I grew up on Domino's pepperoni and Coke. Even though there is better pizza out there, and I almost never drink Coke anymore (hardly ever even diet Coke, either), I'd still vote for that combo probably if given an option, just for the nostalgia.

Suze, do you remember anything funny about that word, nostalgia?

I remember when the Domino's Pizza first opened by the bowling alley, next to the old Convenient store. Later on, they built that shopping center with a Sears outlet, credit union, and an ice cream shop.

Delivered pizza was such a treat--Jamie and I would get a piece of pepperoni apiece, and we could split one of Mom's Diet Pepsis in the tall glass bottles--the ones we'd take back to Foodtown and put on the conveyor belt to recycle.

Dude, I'm depressed now by how ancient I am.

Foodtown! I miss old Georgetown. I miss childhood. Pizza was a big deal at our house, too. I'm very thankful that my parents did not take us out to eat very often. Daniel's family never went out to eat. So now we save lots and lots and lots of money on food by cooking every day. We take leftovers to lunch and eat oatmeal (me) and chapatis (daniel) for breakfast, and nearly every meal is 60% rice. Anyway, I'm glad I wasn't spoiled by restaurant meals and takeout. We only ate out on Sundays, and even then it was at cheap places, and even then Daddy sometimes didn't order anything, but would just eat what we left on our plates (which was a lot).

Becca, I wish me and Lydia had known you and Jamie when we were all kids, and could have grown up together. Wouldn't that have been fun?

Jennifer, I think you are a great cook!!! I was always very impressed when I came over to eat with you and Jamie, even when we were having hot dogs!

Thanks, Ann! I've always loved to cook; it's just the "cleaning up afterwards" part that I didn't like. But with FlyLady's help and encouragement, I'm trying to do better!

And, Annie, I want to come sample your cooking sometime!
